Perhaps like our lead pastor, you grew up in a faith tradition that baptized babies.  While sprinkling infants is a harmless tradition, it is actually not found in the Scriptures.

At Life Church, we do not baptize infants or young children.  In the Bible, people only get baptized after they are old enough to make a decision to follow Christ.

We do, however, see value in parents making a commitment to lead their families with intentionality.
This is what child dedication is all about.

There is something powerful about parents, surrounded by their church family, committing to love, praying for and teaching their kids the way of Jesus.

Here are a few reasons why we value infant and child dedication:

1. Children are a gift from God
Sons are a heritage from the Lord, children a reward from him (Psalm 127:3).

2. God has a purpose and a plan for each of His children
For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do (Ephesians 2:10).

3. Jesus valued children
And He took the children in His arms, put His hands on them and blessed them (Mark 10:13-16).

4. Parents have a responsibility to teach their children about God
These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up (Deuteronomy 6:6-7).
