Meet our Staff Team

Jonathan Herron, Lead Pastor

Out-going and creatively goofy, Jon holds a Bachelor’s degree from Columbia College in Chicago and a Master’s degree from Ashland Theological Seminary.

A gifted communicator and inspiring leader, Jon studied comedy under Tina Fey in the late 1990’s and has spent several summers serving orphans in Africa.  Jon has been in full-time Christian ministry since 2000 and he recently completed a study trip of key historical sites throughout Israel.

As the founding pastor of Life Church, Jon leads our staff team and enjoys pouring life into people while seeing them reach their full potential.

Both a serious reader and lover of comedies, Jon is the guy you want on your Trivial Pursuit team.

Jon’s book, Holy Shift, released in 2016 and quickly became an Amazon Bestseller in the categories of Christian Leadership and Ministry.

Married 18 years to his high school sweetheart, Jon and Amber are in their eighth year of living near Saginaw, Michigan with their children Josiah, Ainsleigh, and Seth.

Jon also has a little wiener dog with a nervous bladder.

Fav Movie Quote: “Hello, my name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die.” (Mandy Patinkin in The Princess Bride)

Greatest Band Ever: The Monkees + Billy Joel

Why I love Life Church: Honestly, even if I wasn’t on staff, this is the church I want my children to grow up in. I believe in our vision to my core!

Tim Nugent, Saginaw Campus Worship

From the depths of the south, Tim Nugent brings his southern charm with a dash of “Where’s your accent?” to Life Church Michigan.

With a career spanning 14 years from empty bars and broken down tour vans, to sharing the stage with Lecrae, David Crowder, and many more, Tim joined the Staff Team in July 2016.

Tim, his wife Sheena and daughter Lenny, are focused on reaching the lost at any cost!

Also, No, Tim is not related to Ted Nugent.

Fav Movie Quote: “How’s your Chinese food?” (My Cousin Vinny)

Greatest Band Ever: Phil Collins

Why I love Life Church: “Because what you see is TRULY what you get at Life Church. From its staff and volunteers, we are here to reach people far from God. No Reserves. No Retreats. No Regrets.”

Travis Jerome Goff, Midland Campus Worship

A native Michigander, Travis joined the staff team at Life Church in May 2017.

With songwriting credits including 2015’s most played nationwide country radio single, What We Ain’t Got featuring country artist Jake Owen, Travis brings songwriting and Nashville recording chops that will fuel our upcoming Life Church Worship EP.

Travis has also been fortunate over the years to tour nationally with artists ranging from Tim McGraw, Faith Hill (When Tim McGraw says, “Hey Travis, go play guitar for my wife,” you don’t need to stop and pray about it!), Audio Adrenaline, Sugarland, Jason Aldean and more.

His heart, though, is tethered to Jesus Christ. A lifelong follower of Christ, Travis has many years of experience leading worship in churches throughout Michigan, Nashville, and Florida. When you talk with Travis, you instantly sense a humble, gentle spirit that radiates grace and loves the Scriptures (Travis is currently pursuing his M.Div.).

Married eighteen years to his wife Misty, they are raising two awesome young sons.

Fav Movie Quote: “Why do we fall, Bruce? So we can learn to pick ourselves up.” (Batman Begins)

Why do I love Life Church: “Life Church is innovative in the way it approaches evangelism and reaching folks that are far from the King of kings. I love the ‘whatever it takes’ attitude that Pastor Jon has to reach the Lord, Let-down, and Looking. I’m proud to serve alongside this amazing Staff Team!”

Monica Lynch, Ministry Coordinator

Monica is a Saginaw native, raised in the Catholic Church.

Monica graduated from Saginaw Valley State University with a Bachelors Degree in Graphic Design and Marketing.

Monica first attended Life Church in January of 2015 hoping to find a church that she and her husband Dan could call home.

In her own words:

“We instantly fell in love with the vision and authenticity of Life Church. By our third Sunday we were volunteering in Life Kids!  I was invited onto the Staff Team in March of 2017 and I love this job because I am blessed with an extraordinary church family, plus I get to be a part of the amazing things God is doing at Life Church!”
