DISCUSSION JUMP-STARTERS

Have everyone go around in circle and introduce themselves: NAME, CITY, HOW DID YOU DISCOVER LIFE CHURCH?

Now have everyone go around in circle and share who their favorite Hero is: It could be a comic book, sports or real-life Hero.

PREP TIME

What did you find most helpful, encouraging, or challenging from your weekly Solo Study Time? Unpack what impacted or stood out to you.

Have someone begin this study by leading the group in a brief prayer.

Play the video segment for Week 1 and encourage the group to take notes.

PRO-TIP for HOSTS Awkward is OK Since this is your first week together, this discussion time might feel awkward. That’s ok! If it is feeling quiet and weird, just say it out loud to break the tension — when your group can LAUGH together, everyone will feel like they’re on the same playing field… this will start to create trust within your group. Trust leads to opening up and sharing, which eventually leads to deeper conversations and doing life together!

GROUP DISCUSSION

What was the most insightful or impactful comment you heard in this video teaching?

In the video, we heard that “When God moves in your life, you are never the same.”
Describe a moment where God moved and your life has been changed.

Read Romans 6:4.
What does “newness” of life look like in your life? In your marriage? In your relationships?

We heard in the video that “God literally designed you to live the dream.”
Search in the deepest, darkest places of your heart.
What dreams did you dream that you have believed the lie that they are dead?
What dreams do you desperately desire to come true?

A “Comeback” begins with the decision that you can do it.
What is holding you back from making a comeback in certain areas of your life?
What can you do to overcome what is trying to hold you back?

Pray together as a group. Go ahead and tell everyone that this may feel awkward and we may fumble through this prayer, but it’s ok.
This is how we are going to take steps of faith forward and we are in this together.

MOVING FORWARD

Spend time praying for your spouse/future spouse/significant other/friends and family.

  1. Pray that the Lord would deposit His perfect love in your heart and their hearts
so that everyone would love others like He loves you (John 13:15-17).

  2. Schedule time in your weekly calendar for next week's’ Solo Study: The Next Right Thing.

  3. Pray for the members of your group to grow closer to Christ and each other in this study.

  4. Ask God the Holy Spirit to give you an opportunity to invite two friends to sit with you at Life Church this coming Sunday.
Then as God the Holy Spirit to also give you the bold courage to make the invite through a text or a personal conversation.
